In search of snow at Lecht

Emma’s car needed to go into the garage for some warranty recall thing, and the garage is in Elgin which is a little over an hour away from Aberdeen, so it called for an early start on Saturday, and I wasn’t best pleased with that.

Pennan

The Scottish coast is lined with small villages like Pennan, which are just sat perfectly with their single row of coloured homes, and their small harbour, and they usually only have a single track road into them down what feels like the steepest hill know to man.

But Pennan has a very famous red phone box in the heart of the village, which film enthusiasts travel from all over the world to make a phone call from, as Pennan was one of the main locations in the 1980’s film Local Hero.

Mill of Nethermill

A friend from work told me about this abandoned outdoor swimming pool in Tarlair which is up in Macduff, so myself and Emma decided to head up there a couple of weekends ago. Well of Lecht Mine

Tillyfourie Quarry

After Emma had showed me a picture of a disused quarry a couple of weeks ago, we took a drive up Inverurie way that weekend to a place called Tillyfourie where said quarry apparently was and then tried to find the place. Continue reading Tillyfourie Quarry

Haddo House

I was setting up some posts in my drafts, and noticed this Haddo House draft post from over a year ago, which for some reason I hadn’t bother to post, so I figured I might as well, there’s no harm in that, considering all the text and images were already laid out.

If you’re ever out that north of Aberdeen way, then definitely swing by and check it out!
