Still trying to make use of those longer summer nights whenever possible, I wanted to park the car at the beach and take a stroll round the harbour and up into the bottom end of the city centre (Emma will tell you it was her idea), so I took the camera and the trusty 24-70mm and off we went.
One thing we were a little bit sad about was noticing that the Neptune Bar had closed down (it looked like it had anyway) – now that’s a place that we had paid a visit to during many a harbour pub crawl.
We wandered up around the outskirts of the harbour and to the flats which are behind the Castlegate, which is another favourite spot of mine. There’s a really nice view of the harbour from here, and if you can be bothered, you can usually find a way in to the flat to check out the views from some of the top floor landings. We didn’t bother this time but we will check it out for sure next time!
From here, we headed to the roof of the car park just off Shiprow to take in some more views of our grey city, and then back through the harbour and to the car we went.
