Mill of Nethermill

A friend from work told me about this abandoned outdoor swimming pool in Tarlair which is up in Macduff, so myself and Emma decided to head up there a couple of weekends ago. However, I didn’t actually do any digging before I went, so when we got there, there was basically a fun day going on, which included barbecues, bouncy castles, and all that kinda sh*t, so it was a bit of a wasted journey.

Craigellachie Bridge

We actually visited Craigellachie Bridge last year, and I thought I had done a blog post on it, I can even remember writing it, but apparently I never, maybe I deleted it or something, so let’s just consider this the do-over!

On our way back from Fochabers the other week, we went through Craigellachie to check out the bridge and get some better shots than last time, but unfortunately, someone had pitched their tent right on the little beach area below the bridge which gives the most perfect view of the bridge, so we couldn’t shoot there.

Aberdeen Railway

For our HANON x Diadora V7000 “Inter City” collaboration the other month, and with it being inspired by rail travel, I dragged Emma out one night to explore the dark and dingey tunnels and car parks around Aberdeen’s train station.

I must admit, I never used to spend much time in the city centre, and I wasn’t exactly the biggest fan of it in all it’s greyness, but after working in the city centre for the last 10 months or so, I’ve become extremely fond of the city and all grey it has to offer!

Well of Lecht Mine

I’m forever spending too much of my life on Instagram looking at all these great photographers visiting these amazing places in Scotland, and that’s exactly what I was doing one night a couple weekends ago when we were up in Fochabers at the caravan when I spotted someone paying a visit to the Well of Lecht Mine, and it looked awesome just nestled in the hills!

We were heading back down to Aberdeen on the Sunday, and I wanted to take a swing past Craigellachie Bridge, so I managed to persuade Emma to then carry on down those really long “tourist routes” home so we could head past Lecht and check out the mine.

Aberdeen Beach

Before you read any further, this post mainly came to be because of Pokemon… but that’s definitely not a bad thing!

Aberdeen beach is an absolute hot spot for Pokemon apparently, and loads of people can be found at the park at Fittie camped out playing the game until the early hours of the morning, but I didn’t believe it was actually a thing, so we went down for a wander to investigate.

There’s no pictures of said people playing Pokemon unfortunately, but we were treated to some lovely colours in the sky, so I snapped that while Emma tried to catch a Pidgey or something.

Tillyfourie Quarry

After Emma had showed me a picture of a disused quarry a couple of weeks ago, we took a drive up Inverurie way that weekend to a place called Tillyfourie where said quarry apparently was and then tried to find the place. Continue reading Tillyfourie Quarry

Haddo House

I was setting up some posts in my drafts, and noticed this Haddo House draft post from over a year ago, which for some reason I hadn’t bother to post, so I figured I might as well, there’s no harm in that, considering all the text and images were already laid out.

If you’re ever out that north of Aberdeen way, then definitely swing by and check it out!
